Introduction to Geometry and Topology II

Lectures: TR 3:05 pm - 4:25 pm, Skiles 269. 

Prerequisite:  I will be assuming you are familiar with fundamentals of  General Topology, fundamental groups, and smooth manifolds (e.g. Math 6457). 

Textbooks: The textbooks for this class are  Algebraic Topology by Hatcher (available on-line) and Riemannian Geometry by Do Carmo . Another book you might find useful: Morse Theory by Milnor. We shall cover most of the syllabus here. (http://www.math.gatech.edu/course/math/6458)

Grading and homework: Grading for the class will be based on approximately 5 homework assignments  and class attendance/participation. The assignments will be posted here and will be due in class on the day indicated on the assignment.  You may collaborate with other students on these assignments but you must write up your own solutions.
