### Course Description

This class is an introduction to the theory of vector space and linear transformations, together with their applications in science, engineering, and economics. Specific topics covered include determinants, inner products, rank & nullity, least squares, eigenvalues, and symmetric matrices.

### Prerequisites

Some previous exposure to liner algebra: Math 1502, Math 1512, or Math 1522

### Textbooks

Linear Algebra with Applications, Otto Bretcher (Fifth Edition), Pearson 2013.

### Attendance Policy

Students are required to attend all lectures.

### Grading

The grade is based on homework (15%); one midterms (35%) on Thursday Jun 20; and a final exam (50%) on Tuesday, Jul 30, 2:50-5:40pm.
