The class meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 1:20-2:30 p.m. in Skiles 243.

**General information:**

This bridge course covers most of the topics in linear algebra usually taught in freshman calculus, but at a somewhat more leisurely pace. The emphasis is on matrix operations and practical calculations, but some theory must be mastered to accomplish this. Students are expected to know the statements of theorems but will not ordinarily be asked to produce proofs. Deeper theorems will only be illustrated and not formally proved.

There is no recitation section for this course. Students are strongly encouraged to ask questions in class, especially about homework problems. Since the class is 70 minutes long, there should be time for such questions on most days.
