As a Mentor in The Directed Reading Program

In 2019-22, I was a mentor with the Directed Reading Program (DRP) at Georgia Tech. The DRP pairs graduate students in mathematics with undergraduate students, for a reading course. Past projects include "Randomized Algorithms," "Online Learning," "Facility Location," and "Set Theory."

As a Counselor with the Ross Mathematics Program

I had the amazing experience of being a counselor at the Ross Mathematics Program in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019. Counselors are tasked with the mentorship of a small group of students. This includes grading and discussing their number theory homework, meeting regularly as an advisee group, occasionally giving lectures, and general supervision. The program subscribes to the "discovery learning" ethos, and as such, counselors attempt to guide students to ideas and proofs with as little intervention as possible. Apart from simulating "real-world" research more accurately than conventional pedagogy, discovery learning seems to result in a greater appreciation of mathematics as a whole.
